FORREST LAWN MEMORIAL PARK, LEPPINGTON, AUSTRALIA

Project Description

Footprint Size: Approximately 5000 m2

 Works: Stockpile Reworking

 Description of Works:

ACG carefully executed soil stockpile works at their project at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with a comprehensive approach that prioritised environmental care and respect for community spaces in the park. The project began with detailed soil testing, followed by the careful removal of grass, plants, and all forms of unnatural materials such as plastics, concrete, and bricks, ensuring these were appropriately disposed of away from the site. In a conscious effort to maintain environmental integrity, ACG filtered and retained quality soil materials on site for essential uses such as backfilling, tracking, and compacting. Aware of the sensitive nature of the location within a memorial park, ACG took extra measures to ensure the work area and remaining stockpile were kept neat, discreet, and visually presentable for visiting families. They also took significant steps to protect the surrounding natural habitat, particularly taking care to avoid damage to trees and their roots by ensuring no fill was placed over them. Through effective coordination with park management, ACG minimized disruption to park services, staff, and the families visiting, all the while conducting geotechnical testing to confirm the suitability and safety of the VENM material used for the project, underscoring their commitment to environmental stewardship and community respect.
